Bret Link scored the game-winner in overtime as Colorado College upset No. 3 Western Michigan 3-2 in Colorado Springs. No. 4 Minnesota took down No. 17 Wisconsin 4-1 in front of over 10,000 fans at Mariucci - that’s definitely not a Tuesday night crowd - Connor Kurth scored twice for the Gophers. No. 5 Denver put on an offensive clinic, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to crush Omaha 11-2, with Rieger Lorenz and James Reeder each scoring twice and 16 different players recording points.
No. 7 Providence doubled up No. 9 UConn 6-3 behind a hat trick from Hudson Malinoski. No. 8 UMass Lowell edged Merrimack 3-2 with Jake Ribilotti netting the game-winner early in the third period. No. 12 Arizona State stayed hot, winning for the 15th time in its last 17 games with a 4-1 victory over Miami, highlighted by Cruz Lucius’ first goal as a Sun Devil. No. 13 Michigan rebounded to split its series with Penn State, with seven different players scoring in a 7-3 win. Rhett Pitlick’s 11th goal of the season lifted No. 15 Minnesota State to a 3-2 overtime win over St. Thomas, keeping the Mavericks in second place in the CCHA by points percentage.
No. 16 North Dakota took five of six points on the weekend after a 6-2 win over St. Cloud State, with Owen McLaughlin scoring twice. No. 19 Augustana extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games (7-0-3) with a 4-3 victory over Lake Superior State, as Luke Mobley found the back of the net twice.
In Atlantic Hockey - every game went into overtime and three of them ended 3-2.
Holy Cross edged Canisius 3-2 in overtime, Mercyhurst took the shootout win after a 3-3 tie with Robert Morris, RIT defeated Air Force 3-2 in overtime, and Sacred Heart also won in OT, 3-2 over Niagara.
In the CCHA, Bowling Green topped Northern Michigan 5-2, and Ferris State beat Bemidji State 3-1.
ECAC action saw Union slip past Brown 2-1, Colgate dominate St. Lawrence 6-1, Cornell win the shootout after a 3-3 tie with Clarkson, Princeton take down Dartmouth 3-1, and RPI cruise past Yale 5-2.
Matt Hubbarde scored a hat trick as Alaska picked up a 5-1 win to take a 3-2 Governor's Cup lead over rival Alaska-Anchorage on Saturday night. Gagnon and Dick combined for four shots. Only in Alaska. WINK.
Elsewhere, LIU blanked Stonehill 2-0 in non-conference play. In exhibitions, Army West Point defeated Royal Military College (Ont.) 3-2, and Lindenwood put up seven in a 7-4 win over Simon Fraser (B.C.).
On the women’s side:
Sarah Wozniewicz scored the game-winner in OT and Laila Edwards scored her 26th of the year, which leads the nation, as No. 1 Wisconsin edged No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth 2-1. Sloane Matthews scored a natural hat trick in the second period, and No. 2 Ohio State scored four goals in the third to pull away from No. 3 Minnesota 7-4.
Elyssa Biederman scored the game-winner in overtime as No. 4 Colgate topped No. 7 St. Lawrence 3-2 in overtime. No. 8 Penn State picked up its 12th win in a row to secure its 25th victory of the season, with Tessa Janecke netting her 20th goal of the year in a 5-2 win over Robert Morris. The fifth-ranked Big Red of Cornell are now up by a point and a half in the ECAC after a 2-1 win over No. 9 Clarkson.
St. Thomas got outshot 33-8 but came away with a 2-1 overtime win at home against No. 11 St. Cloud State, as Lauren Stenslie’s seventh goal of the year was the game-winner 36 seconds into OT.
Tuva Kandell scored the game-winner in overtime to lift No. 14 Northeastern past No. 15 UConn 4-3. Maddy Samoskevich scored twice as No. 10 Quinnipiac ousted Dartmouth 3-0. Issy Wunder scored her 22nd of the year, and No. 13 Princeton beat Harvard 2-0. Elsewhere in AHA action, Syracuse blanked Lindenwood 5-0, while Mercyhurst and RIT skated to a 1-1 tie, with Mercyhurst taking the shootout win.
In the ECAC, Brown edged RPI 4-3 and Yale slipped past Union 3-2. In Hockey East, Holy Cross earned a 1-0 shutout over Maine, Providence topped New Hampshire 4-3 in overtime, and Boston University rolled past Vermont 4-1.
In NEWHA play, LIU edged St. Michael’s 2-1 in overtime, Sacred Heart blanked Assumption 2-0, Post took down St. Anselm 3-0, and Franklin Pierce topped Stonehill 3-2 in overtime. Minnesota State wrapped up the night in the WCHA with a 5-1 win over Bemidji State.
