We begin with the men as No. 1 Denver stayed undefeated, defeating Lindenwood 4-1 as four different players scored and Sam Harris netting his seventh of the year for the Pios. No. 2 Boston College rallied past No. 5 Maine 3-2 with Ryan Leonard scoring the game-winner with just over 90 seconds left. Maine led 2-0 midway through the third period before Boston College turned it around, handing the Black Bears their first loss of the season.
No. 3 Minnesota came from behind to edge Wisconsin 3-2 with Jimmy Snuggerud scoring twice to secure the win. No. 4 Michigan State handed No. 13 Ohio State its first loss in a 4-2 game as Daniel Russell tallied his fifth goal of the season for Sparty.
Yale won the shootout over No. 6 Cornell after a 2-2 tie; Donovan Frias scored twice for Yale. No. 7 Michigan outlasted No. 20 Notre Dame 2-1 in OT thanks to Evan Werner’s fourth goal of the season. Colorado College ruined the NCHC debut of Arizona State by topping the Sun Devils 4-3 in OT with Zaccharaya Wisdom’s game-winner.
No. 17 UMass Lowell improved to 6-1, defeating No. 9 Boston University 5-3, handing BU its third straight home loss. No. 10 North Dakota cruised to a 7-3 win over Minnesota-Duluth with seven different players scoring. Northeastern took down No. 11 Providence in a shootout after a 2-2 game, while No. 12 St. Cloud State edged Miami 3-2 in OT - Grant Ahcan with a pair of goals including the game-winner for the Huskies.
No. 14 Western Michigan beat Omaha 2-1 with Tristan Lemyre’s late game-winner, and Dartmouth pulled off an upset by beating No. 15 Quinnipiac 4-2. No. 16 Minnesota State rallied to beat St. Thomas 5-3, scoring four third-period goals.
In other games, Vermont topped No. 18 UMass in a shootout after a 3-3 tie.
In Atlantic Hockey America: Air Force blanked Canisius 2-0, and Army West Point edged Niagara 1-0. Bentley shut out RIT 5-0, while American International defeated Holy Cross 3-2, and Sacred Heart overcame Mercyhurst 4-3.
In the CCHA: Bemidji State edged Augustana 4-3 in OT, Lake Superior State shut out Northern Michigan 5-0, Michigan Tech narrowly beat Ferris State 3-2
In the ECAC: Colgate downed Brown 5-3, and Harvard topped Princeton 4-3 in OT.
In Hockey East: Merrimack dispatched UConn 4-1.
In non-conference action, Union tied Alaska 3-3 and won the shootout, and in exhibition play, St. Lawrence blanked Simon Fraser 4-0.
On the women’s side, No. 5 Colgate outlasted No. 14 Brown 4-3 in OT, with Neena Brick scoring the game-winner, handing Brown its first loss of the season. No. 6 Clarkson defeated Union 3-2, while No. 7 Quinnipiac needed just 43 seconds of OT to edge Dartmouth 2-1 thanks to Jenna Donahue’s quick goal.
RPI won the shootout after tying No. 8 St. Lawrence 3-3, and Northeastern edged No. 10 UConn 1-0, with Lily Shannon’s lone goal lifting her team of Huskies ove the other set of Huskies.
No. 11 Cornell blanked Yale 2-0 with Annelies Bermgann’s 33 saves securing the shutout. No. 13 Boston College topped Maine 3-1, with three different players scoring, while No. 15 Boston University tied Merrimack 3-3 and won the shootout.
In the ECAC: Princeton defeated Harvard 5-3.
New Hampshire overcame Providence with a decisive 7-3 win in Hockey East.
In the NEWHA, St. Anselm edged Post 2-1, Sacred Heart blanked Assumption 1-0, LIU shut out St. Michael’s 5-0, and Stonehill edged Franklin Pierce 2-1.
The lone non-conference game saw Lindenwood dominate St. Thomas 6-1.
